We keep a mixed flock of ~25 heritage breed brown egg laying hens. They receive a 100% organic grain ration and forage daily in a rotating yard protected from predators by an electric poultry net. As omnivores, these hens also help us to dispose of the insect pests we hand gather from our vegetable garden and home orchard.
