We’ve been digging mangel beets and forage turnips to supplement the sheep’s diets over the winter.  Our dear friends Lou and Robin of Blue Heron farm worked with us to plant these crops in some spare beds at their farm.  We were all floored by how large they grew.

We chop the roots with an antique root cutter borrowed from our friends at Northland Sheep Dairy.
