While walking in the forest, you know a wolftree for its broad canopy and many limbs low to the ground outstretched like arms. They are the old trees that were left standing in a pasture or homestead site while the surrounding land was cleared for farming. As the old pastures were abandoned, the forest grew back around this now ungainly tree. The wolftree tells a story of time past. We like the name because it links us to the people and farming practices of the past while we work to create a new productive future on this land.
